What is a public adjuster?

A public adjuster is a professional who is experienced and trained in the field of insurance claims. We work for and represent you in your claim to the insurance company. Public adjusters are not employed by the insurance company; our interest is in your best interest.

Why do I need a public adjuster?

When damage occurs to your home or property, the insurance company takes control of the claim and makes the decisions regarding your claim. Insurance companies examine the claim and settle it according to how they perceive the loss and in their own interest. A typical insurance policy is very complex and the language and procedures can be difficult to understand. This can make it difficult for the homeowner or policy holder to determine if the insurance company is offering them a fair settlement or entitlement regarding the claim. As public adjusters, we contribute specialized experience, training, and knowledge to the process, relieving you of the stress, uncertainty, time, and hassle involved in processing an insurance claim. Our experience in preparing, estimating, presenting, and negotiating your claim enables you to obtain everything you're entitled to under your policy.

Will I receive a faster and more satisfactory insurance settlement if I utilize a Public Adjuster?

The more thorough and complete the claim, the higher the settlement will be. We know exactly what to provide to the insurance company to expedite the settlement of your claim. In some cases, particularly if the loss is small, our involvement in your claim may not make a significant difference, and we will tell you this right up front. The majority of the time, however, your interests are better served by utilizing a public adjuster. As claims get more complicated, many homeowners not utilizing a public adjuster don't collect all the money they're entitled to simply because of the complex nature of the claims process. Our specialized knowledge and expertise serve to maximize your insurance settlement.

What's the difference between a Public Adjuster and an Insurance Adjuster?

A public adjuster works for you, ensuring that you receive the full benefits and settlement you're entitled to under your insurance policy. The insurance company adjuster is also there to settle the claim, but he or she is working for the insurance company, not for you. The insurance adjuster is operating in the interest of the insurance company, and is not trained or willing to maximize the settlement of your claim. A public adjuster is looking out for your best interest, in terms of expediently and thoroughly processing your claim.

What is the cost of utilizing a Public Adjuster?

We do not charge any up-front or out-of-pocket fees. Our fee is a percentage of the insurance company's settlement and is paid when you collect your entitlement. Because the settlement amount is almost always greater when you have a public adjuster, the cost is absorbed by a higher settlement figure because of the public adjuster's specialized knowledge and expertise.
